Pausing and resuming mid print for time restrictions

Postby Matt » Tue Oct 20, 2015 7:12 pm

Has anyone paused a print part way through and resumed it the next day?

I can't be there to babysit my printer and refill it for larger prints while I'm at work. But tall prints take too much time for me to do between getting home and sleeping. So I'm going to try pausing a print and starting it again the next day.

Has anyone done this before? If no one has, I will update with my results in a few days.

I've paused for a short period of time like 15 minutes and had no real ill effects on the print, but if you go for something longer, you will probably need to make sure you remix the resin so you don't have a color band or some other strange artifact.

The other question is if there is any instability in the GUI or control software with it paused so long? I'd guess not, but something to think about.
