upload previously downloaded files to the Nano

Postby Roland Koch » Sat Aug 08, 2015 8:21 am

Is there any way to upload previously (from the Nano) downloaded (and deleted on it) files to the Nano to use the model again?

Thanks

Just to make sure I got your question correct, You had uploaded a model on the nano before and had downloaded the files from the nano through the browse models page, but then you deleted them and now you want to re upload the downloaded files?

That can't be done for now. You'll have to re upload the svg and convert it again. This is far easier than the steps I'm about to tell you. Also the following steps may have the risk of corrupting you nano's browse models page if done incorrectly. (What's life without a little danger.)

But if you know how to operate an an FTP client like FileZilla you can unzip the file that you had downloaded from the nano and transfer the folder to the /home/pi/ibox/www/packages/expanded directory under a folder with the same file name.

For example if you had uploaded a model called Rook_5mm_Scaled and downloaded the zip file from the nano as Rook_5mm_Scaled.zip
then extract the zip file to a folder on your computer and open FileZilla(Username: pi , password: raspberry , and the port should be left as the default or blank)
Now go into the /home/pi/ibox/packages/expanded directory and create a folder called Rook_5mm_Scaled there and copy the contents of the extraced folder (Should be a whole load of .png, .jpeg files and other files)

Now in the browse models page of your nano you should be able to see your old model back there.

connecting via SFTP / SSH works fine. Setting the correct paths in the FTP client for the Nano and the local computer should eliminate crashing the printer when working on the files.
