Lower build plate to vat surface?

Postby csga1bkh » Wed Jul 22, 2015 8:02 am

By 'vat surface' is meant the build plate should be lowered through the resin until the build plate touches the bottom of the vat? After touching the 'vat surface', the build plate is supposed to be raised as little as possible, then press print?

Terminology is always a learning curve as are the small incremental steps that are often overlooked in describing any process.

Yes it's exactly as you explained it.
You lower the build plate till it touches the bottom of the vat and just tap the up button once to move a single layer and then start the print through the web GUI.
You also can hit print right after you your lower the build plate, but you'll lose the first 100 micron layer which is almost too small to measure anyway.

And if you're looking for terminology we've got our own complete set of jargon for our printer. I think I should make a post explaining it with pictures.
